Primo Fightwear “Trinity Series” & Air Sports Bra Review.
PRIMO FIGHTWEAR new Trinity Series! I received a few shorts and sports bras in the mail last week and have been testing them out at the gym. Here is a review on what I love about the new collection + what you should consider before purchasing!
TRINITY SERIES MUAYTHAI SHORTS
Trinity Series Microfiber Muay Thai Shorts (Navy Blue) & Air Sports Bra (Black)
🍓 FIT
LOVE:
Love the microfiber material. It is light, doesn’t crinkle and also isn’t see through. I was pleasantly surprised! No need to wear bike shorts under these Muay Thai shorts.
The retro cut flares out slightly at the hips which I think is more flattering than a straight cut. The shorts sit just above the hips and covers 1/4 of my thighs.
Elastic waistband isn’t too tight - doesn’t accentuate love handles as much as some tighter shorts.
I tried running and weights in them too - no chaffing!
TO CONSIDER:
I have a pretty straight body. You may want to size up if you’re thicker around the waist and butt as the shorts are quite short - it may show more butt than you want.

🍓 DESIGN
LOVE:
Love the new PRIMO logo in PU leather (vegan 🌱) - gives the shorts a nice textured look.
The colours this series are a definite stand out! These are my favourite colours since one of the OG shorts by Primo, “Miami Lights”
🍓 PRODUCT CARE
Handwash! I did not read or follow the washing instructions for my Hologram Series and ruined the logo in the wash. I am yet to find out if the Primo logo is delicate and whether it will last long through training sessions.
My previous shorts collections have always kept their colour and structure. I’ve never had issues with the embroidery either.

LOVE:

Big yes for me is the thick band around the sternum - prevents slips that do happen pretty often even in pro fights! I am very conscious of the sports bras slipping during training or fighting. This thick and snug band is exactly what we need to prevent that!
Lightly padded and pleasantly surprised how supportive the design is.
I know the Primo team have been working hard to improve their Sports bra design. They’ve been asking us female athletes to provide suggestions for design, fit and colour. To see this as the final product after all the r&d is awesome!
TO CONSIDER:
I washed the red bra separately for it’s first wash - slight colour leak.
Final thoughts…
🍉 I’ve been wearing my Primo shorts since 2019 and still have the OG designs in my regular cycle of weekly shorts. The shorts last and don’t look tattered even after many uses. Eg. My “Miami Lights” and “Arctic Ghost” from the “Free Flow Series” I wear at least once every fortnight.
🍉 I wear a size S in their shorts and bras. In the Super Nylon collection, I would suggest sizing UP as the fit is tighter.
